IFA awarded the first IFA Whittle Safety Award to Mr Ahmad Abdulla Al-Zabin, Deputy Director General (Engineering Affairs), Kuwait Airways Corporation. The award was presented by the new IFA President, Bob Davis during the Annual IFA/FSF/IATA Safety Conference held in Cape Town, South Africa.
In recognition of his personal contributions to the development of air safety in Kuwait Airways and to the rebuilding of the airline after the invasion of Kuwait in 1990.
