2024 – Oliver Burden
The International Federation of Airworthiness (IFA) and Cranfield University are happy to announce the main award winner of the inaugural IFA/Cranfield John Saull scholarship for Airworthiness for 2024. The winner has been chosen from a group of excellent international entrants.
Oliver Burden is a 32 year old Category A1 Part-66 Licence holder working for easyJet at Gatwick.
Oliver says “I came to aviation late, starting my apprenticeship with Monarch at 24 years old having previously worked as an IT Engineer. It’s been a great career change and I hope to encourage others to consider a career in our wonderful industry.”
NOTE: This award is dedicated to John Saull who led the IFA as its Executive Director for over 20 years. He was Chair of the Cranfield University Alumni for many years and has had a lasting legacy as an able an enthusiastic international aviation leader. The IFA, Cranfield University and John’s family have collaborated to provide this new annual scholarship.
