The 2024 Whittle Safety Award has been presented to Cengiz Turkoglu. The award was presented to Mr. Turkoglu by IFA CEO John Vincent & Mick Adams at the International Federation of Airworthiness UK Industry Leaders Panel Event, 28th November 2024 at DARTeC, Cranfield University.  

Cengiz Turkoglu

Cengiz is a former licensed aircraft maintenance engineer and a current IOSA auditor and University Lecturer. He has been involved in IFA since 2011. Mr. Turkoglu is also a member of the UK Flight Safety Committee and serving as the Vice Chair since 2015.
During his time as Technical Director of IFA, , Cengiz ensured that the federation was well represented and recognised by regulators, manufacturers, maintainers and aircraft operators. His influence and understanding of the issues of engineering and aircraft maintenance has helped shape policy and practice across a wide range of national and international activities.
