Why I chose to be an aviation engineer – Lola Lahoz Nogales

Lola Lahoz Nogales, Design Office Manager, DOA and Deputy Head of Airworthiness wishes to encourage young people and in particular young women to follow their instincts and consider aviation engineering for their career, in this short video clip, part of the IFA ‘Why I chose…’ series of films she shares why she chose aviation engineering for her career and how her passion for airworthiness has developed.

IFA has recognised that a shortage of engineering professionals can become an airworthiness issue, if it is not addressed. Effort is needed to attract new talent into aviation engineering and that needs to start early. Effort is needed to retain existing skilled professionals too. Effort is needed to promote the rewarding nature of the work.
