Why I chose to be an aviation engineer – Khadijah Abdullahi Habib

Aeronautical Engineer and Data Analyst, Khadijah Abdullahi Habib explains how she gained her interest in aviation and how her career has progressed. In this short video clip she gives a message not only to young girls considering if engineering is a career option but to all existing women in engineering to encourage them to share their experiences show the young what is possible.

IFA has recognised that a shortage of engineering professionals can become an airworthiness issue, if it is not addressed. Effort is needed to attract new talent into aviation engineering and that needs to start early. Effort is needed to retain existing skilled professionals too. Effort is needed to promote the rewarding nature of the work.

IFA will raise awareness of the opportunities that exist at an exciting time in the advance of aviation. We needs to inspire young people to pursue engineering careers.
