Ir Cheung has been working in HKCAD for more than 16 years and he is currently holding the post of Chief, Airworthiness Standards. His duties involve overseeing initial and continuing airworthiness, including approval of design, maintenance and training organisations; approval of design changes, repair designs and parts manufacturing; and licensing of maintenance engineers. He was also an Inspector of Accidents before the accident investigation function of HKCAD was transferred to the Air Accident Investigation Authority in 2018.
Before joining HKCAD, Ir Cheung had worked at TCCA based in Toronto, Canada for 14 years as a senior aircraft certification engineer. He was specialised in Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) for variety of major aircraft modification projects.
Ir Cheung is a fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers in the Aircraft Discipline.
