    2025 - Tony Kern The 2025 Whittle Safety Award recipient has been chosen, Mr Tony Kern. Dr. Tony Kern is a distinguished authority on human performance in aviation and has made significant contributions to the field. He is a Founding Partner and CEO of Convergent Performance, LLC, a veteran-owned small business in Colorado Springs dedicated to reducing human error and improving performance in high-risk environments. Dr. Kern has received multiple awards, including the USAF McDermott Award for Original Research, the Laurels Award for Outstanding Achievement in Government and Military, the John K. Lauber Safety Award, and the Flight Safety Foundation-Airbus Human Factors in Aviation Safety Award. In 2015, the National Business Aviation Association created the Dr. Tony Kern Professionalism in Aviation Award to honor his contributions. Dr. Kern is the author of nine books on human performance and has lectured around the globe for decades. He has a rich background in the U.S. Air Force, serving as a Command Pilot and Flight Examiner, as well as Chairman of the U.S. Air Force Human Factors Steering Group and Director and Professor of Military History at the USAF Academy. Dr. Kern's work has been recognized with multiple awards and the establishment of the Dr. Tony Kern Professionalism in Aviation Award. Unfortunately we were unable to present the award to Mr Kern at the 2025 John Saull Memorial Event but we hope to make a formal presentation to him in the United States sometime in the near future.
