ICAO is a forum for cooperation in global civil aviation among its 193 Member States. At its recent Assembly it set out its plans to set standards for aviation safety, security, efficiency, capacity and environmental protection priorities. For the first time IFA attended this major 3-yearly gathering of international aviation in Montreal. Now, the resolutions from the 40th Assembly have been published.
IFA agrees that ICAO Member States need to implement national aviation safety plans to continually reduce civil aviation fatalities and the risk of fatalities.
IFA supports the call to States and industry to take the actions to counter cyber threats to civil aviation.
IFA is pleased to see that States are asked to ensure the integration of human performance considerations in the planning, design, and implementation of new technologies, systems and processes as part of a safety management approach.
