Human Factors Specialist, Dr Bill Johnson to present Keynote speech at 2019 IFA Conference, Hong Kong 12-13 November

 

Dr. Bill Johnson will return to the IFA Conference as the 2019 Keynote Speaker. Bill is the FAA Chief Scientist and Technical Advisor for Human Factors in Aircraft Maintenance Systems. As a 50+ year pilot and Aviation Maintenance Technician/Engineer he has created a legacy of engineering human factors products that are used worldwide.

Johnson suggests that Human Factors I, aimed at human physiology and psychology. HF I used Swiss Cheese, the Dirty Dozen, and Johnson’s PEAR to help all engineers understand, remember, and apply HF principles to work safety.

Human Factors II capitalized on organizational human factors using voluntary reporting and Safety Management in a just and safety-oriented culture.

Human Factors III may apply I & II with big data and wearable technologies to advise individual workers regarding personal condition and task-related risk that may be present.

Of course, Dr. Bill promises to mention a few new FAA HF products including an Engineering Safety Culture Survey Assessment tool and a training system to affect worker attitudes about procedural compliance.
