HAECO completes Trent XWB engine build activities ahead of Lunar New Year travel surge

HAECO, a global leader in aircraft engineering and maintenance solutions, has successfully completed a series of Trent XWB engine build activities in Beijing for a major Chinese operator, in anticipation of increased travel demand leading up to the Lunar New Year festivities.

As a member of the HAECO Group, HAECO Global Engine Support provides round-the-clock on-wing and in-shop engine services through an extensive network across Asia Pacific, the Americas, and Europe. The timely completion of these critical engine activities reflects HAECO’s commitment to helping airlines maintain operational resilience during this busy season.

“Our teams are proud to support our airline customers during one of the most demanding times of the year,” said Corné van Rooij, General Manager of HAECO Global Engine Support. “These engine build projects not only showcase our technical excellence but also our ability to mobilise quickly and operate effectively in challenging environments, ensuring the operational continuity of our customers’ fleets.”

Working in Beijing’s cold winter conditions, the on-wing service team executed rigorous planning and enhanced coordination to ensure smooth progress on the Trent XWB engine builds. Daily engagement with onsite partners facilitated proactive risk management, helping airlines minimise potential disruptions and optimise fleet readiness for the upcoming travel surge.

In addition to these engine build activities, HAECO offers 24/7 on-wing and near-wing engine support, inspections, and repairs. Its network of HKCAD-, EASA-, FAA- and UKCAA- approved facilities covers all major engine types. HAECO also operates state-of-the-art engine storage facilities and serves as a centre for lease redelivery of major engine models. Additional services include borescope inspections, general visual checks, inventory assessments, and engine preservation.
