For the next IFA Thought Leadership Webinar Hans Mayer, President EAMTC will be talking to IFA VP Technical, Cengiz Turkoglu about the EAMTC project on the application of ‘competency based training in the aviation maintenance domain. Hans will explain the need to update the way aviation maintenance personnel is qualified today. The development of competence based training and assessment is one of the EAMTC projects which is geared towards showing a better way into the qualification future. As is often the case, innovative developments generate many questions and concerns, therefore, feedback from members and authorities must be seriously considered and heeded.
Hans works as Quality and Training Manager, Lufthansa Technik, is the current President of the European Aviation Maintenance Training Committee (EAMTC) and a member of the EASA Stakeholder Advisory Board (SAB) and EASA Human Factors Collaborative Analysis Group (HFCAG).
EAMTC is a non-profit making Foundation registered in The Netherlands. It is an independent industry body comprising training organisations and those in associated enterprises. Being keenly aware of the unique role that training provides in ensuring and promoting safety, the EAMTC promotes safety through training via its meetings, interaction between members and its relationship with other industry bodies. The EAMTC is proactive in offering solutions to industry issues. Working Groups tackle issues of common concern with the outcomes being shared between members and the regulatory authorities, as appropriate.
