Alvaro was studying for an MSc in Aeronautical Engineering, Faculty of Aerospace Engineering (ETSIAE) through the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) and was delighted to have been chosen to receive the award. Alvaro chose to use his scholarship to attend a Cranfield University Airworthiness Fundamentals course which was held in September 2018.
“I am most pleased to have receive the scholarship and would like to express my gratitude to The International Federation of Airworthiness for this opportunity and the confidence entrusted in my application. The possibility to attend a training course in airworthiness constitutes a remarkable prospect to complement and further my understanding of this key area of aviation, and I am sure the knowledge that I acquire will be of great use for the future of my career.”
Alvaro thanked Dr. Cristina Cuerno-Rejado, Professor of Aircraft Design at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (ETSIAE – UPM), who sponsored his application. Cristina a long time supporter of IFA is keen to promote the interest in airworthiness and safety and this award highlights and recognises the ongoing efforts that Cristina and her colleagues at the Universidad have placed on airworthiness.
