‘May-tenance month’ is back, shining a spotlight on the essential role of aircraft maintenance engineers in keeping our skies safe. This year, celebrate their expertise, dedication and the vital contributions they make to aviation safety, with a month of engaging activities and initiatives.
Aircraft maintenance engineers play a vital role in keeping the skies safe. Every day, millions of passengers rely on aircraft that have been inspected, maintained and certified by licensed professionals to ensure they are safe and airworthy.
That’s why CASA’s celebrating their contribution this May with the return of May-tenance month – a dedicated campaign recognising the essential work of aircraft maintenance engineers across Australia.
Throughout the month, CASA will be raising awareness of the many career paths within aircraft maintenance and encouraging people to explore opportunities in this rewarding and highly skilled field.
CASA will host a series of engaging online webinars featuring insights from their own engineering experts.
Whether you’re on the tools, leading a team or looking to grow your career, there’s something in this year’s line-up for everyone.
- Webinar 1 – Creating a culture of safety: why reporting matters, how to build trust and encourage speaking up.
- Webinar 2 – Understanding your Part 66 licence privileges: clarifying what your licence allows and where to find the right support.
- Webinar 3 – Supporting aircraft owners with continuing airworthiness: helping owners meet their obligations and strengthening your advisory role.
They’re also bringing back an exclusive social media competition for aircraft maintainers, with 3 Snap-on Tools vouchers worth $500 each up for grabs.
All AMEs, licensed aircraft maintenance engineers, safety managers and others in the maintenance sector will also be encouraged to take the new Aviation safety pledge for aircraft maintainers.
The pledge is a simple but powerful way to reflect on how maintenance professionals support a positive safety culture – by speaking up, leading by example, staying informed and seizing opportunities to upskill. It builds on the recent success of the ongoing Aviation safety pledge for pilots and organisations.
This month is all about celebrating the dedication, technical expertise and ongoing commitment of the people who keep our aircraft flying safely.
