AutoFlight’s unmanned eVTOL first to get airworthiness certification in China

By Micquel Ros, Aerotime

Chinese eVTOL developer AutoFlight has obtained an airworthiness certificate for its V2000CG CarryAll pilotless aircraft from China’s aviation authorities, according to reports from several local media outlets on July 22, 2025.

The V2000CG CarryAll has already obtained its type certificate and production certificate, so this latest official validation brings it, in principle, close to its commercial debut. It is also worth noting that the V2000CG CarryAll is also the first aircraft over one ton to be granted all three certifications.

While the most immediate commercial applications of AutoFlight’s aircraft are in the cargo segment, the company is also working on a passenger eVTOL called “Prosperity”, capable of carrying four people plus the pilot.

AutoFlight is one of the leading firms in the Chinese eVTOL ecosystem and has been actively performing demonstration flights at several locations throughout China, such as the Pearl River Delta and Shanghai Pudong Airport (PVG).

The company has also started to build a greenfield factory in the city of Wuhan, one of the Chinese cities which has already drawn up plans to establish up intra-city eVTOL services in the near future.
