Jabiru opens new European branch
Australian light aircraft manufacturer Jabiru has established a stronger presence in Europe with the launch of a new dedicated dealer partnership.
Jabiru Europe, run in partnership with JDM Aviation, will be based in Darois, France, and serve as a centralised dealership for Jabiru aircraft, engines, parts, and maintenance in the European market.
According to Jabiru, the European branch would “focus on re-introducing Jabiru product to the European markets and providing a strong local support infrastructure”.
“The J170 – a proven, all-composite two-seat aircraft with a 600kg MTOW – is well suited to European ultralight registration pathways,” the company said.
“The J430, Jabiru’s four-seat touring aircraft available as a kit in the experimental class, provides a step up for pilots seeking greater capability and range.
“Both aircraft are powered by Jabiru’s own engines, delivering the complete tip-to-tail in-house support that has underpinned Jabiru’s reputation for over 35 years.”
The partnership is “ideally positioned to serve as the hub for new aircraft sales, engine supply, parts distribution and maintenance support across the continent”, Jabiru said.
“Under the Jabiru Europe model, existing Jabiru agents will transition to become Jabiru Approved Maintainers (JAMs) — recognised as OEM qualified and trusted maintainers and resellers of Jabiru product,” the company said.
“JAMs receive priority access to Jabiru training, procedures, technical documentation and direct OEM engineering support. The result is a European support ecosystem, combining genuine factory backing and local expertise, focused on Jabiru owners and operators.”
Jabiru aircraft currently fly in more than 50 countries worldwide.
