EU Sign Aviation Production Pact to Boost Safety
India and the European Union have signed a working arrangement on industrial aviation production between the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The move aims to enhance collaboration in aviation safety, manufacturing standards, and industrial cooperation.
The pact supports “Make in India” initiatives aligned with European norms and is expected to facilitate projects like the assembly of Airbus H125/AS350 helicopters in Karnataka, deepening aerospace manufacturing ties. The signing took place on March 23, 2026, ahead of a regional workshop under the EU–South Asia Aviation Partnership Programme held in New Delhi from March 24–26.
The workshop brought together regulators, airlines, and industry stakeholders to share operational expertise and address regional challenges. Officials said the agreement marks a new phase in EU–India cooperation, promoting regulatory alignment, safety performance, and sustainable growth in the aviation sector.
