Magnetic MRO inaugurates fifth Hangar at Tallinn Airport, bolstering capabilities and creating jobs
In a strategic effort to expand maintenance capabilities, Magnetic MRO has officially announced the opening of its fifth hangar at Tallinn Airport (EETN). The expansion is set to push the MRO’s base maintenance capacity and is anticipated to generate 80 direct jobs and 240 indirect positions across the local aviation sector.
“Capacity on its own is not the story – capability is,” said Jan Kotka, Managing Director at Magnetic MRO. “The extra capacity at our Tallinn facility lets us scale critical checks, integrate more digital and data-driven processes, and introduce services our customers are asking for—setting a higher bar for turnaround, transparency, and total cost of ownership.”
The 8,800 sqm new hangar will feature three heavy maintenance bays and a 150-kW solar power system. The state-of-the-art hangar, designed to meet LEED Silver Certification standards for energy efficiency, also includes specialized tail docks, wing platforms, and access stairs.

The onset of this expansion has positioned Magnetic MRO at a spot where the company will be able to balance both demand and capability in the heavy maintenance segment. Future growth strategies for Magnetic MRO will include engine workshop capabilities and developing talent through Magnetic Academy.
According to Aavo Kuus, Business Development Manager at Magnetic MRO, “Continued growth at Tallinn Airport ensures airlines get what matters most: access they can rely on and predictable outcomes. That reliability is why customers choose Magnetic MRO.”
The hangar has been operational since early January 2026, with all three bays now active and supporting ongoing base maintenance work. Magnetic MRO staffs the facility with experienced engineers and technicians, ensuring continuity in service quality and adherence to safety standards.
The company has also introduced a distinctive visual feature at the site by commissioning Estonian street artist Von Bomb (Indrek Haas) to create artwork on the hangar doors, underscoring Magnetic MRO’s view that technical excellence and creativity can coexist within aviation.
The investment represents a strategic milestone in Magnetic MRO’s growth, strengthening Tallinn’s role as a key hub in the company’s global operations as it continues to explore future geographic expansion.
