Safety Innovation No.4: Engine Back-up System (EBS)

It is a fact, our industry has made huge progress in safety since the 1950s, and technology has contributed significantly to this evolution. Always keen to go the extra mile in safety, Airbus continues to innovate, as demonstrated by the EBS recently developed by Airbus Helicopters. In the event of engine failure, an electrical engine connected to the main gearbox can provide power so that the crew gets more time to react and adapt to the situation, increasing the safety of single engine helicopters.
