For a third time the IFA supports Art Williams and Harry Wendt Aeronautical Engineering School’s nominee to enable attendance at IATA Airline Safety Investigation Course in Montreal, Canada

The 2019 Scholarship winner is Raphael Rogers, a student of Art Williams & Harry Wendt Aeronautical Engineering School, Guyana

Raphael is currently working as an aircraft maintenance technician with Caribbean Aviation Maintenance Services (CAMS) having graduated and worked at the Art Williams & Harry Wendt Aeronautical Engineering School based in Guyana and is delighted to have been chosen to receive the award.

“I am grateful for this opportunity to attend this course on Airline Safety Investigation. I am looking forward to what I would be able to learn and hope that it would give me a better perspective on airline safety risks and to expand my view as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician”– Raphael Rogers.

Raphael thanked Mrs. Nalini Chanderban, Accountable Manager who sponsored his application.   The Art Williams & Harry Wendt Aeronautical Engineering School, a long-time supporter of IFA is keen to promote the interest in airworthiness and safety and this award highlights and recognises the ongoing efforts that the school have placed on airworthiness.

John Vincent IFA CEO said: “An important part of our work is to help the next generation make their mark in the field of airworthiness.  It pleases me greatly to see that we have such a worthy recipient of our award this year”.

Hi We offer a scholarship of up to £2500 annually for a person to use to attend an airworthiness course or event. Any person who works for or who is a member of an IFA Corporate or Institutional member can be nominated for the scholarship. Sadly the COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to not offer a scholarship for 2020 but we hope to be able to offer the opportunity again in 2021.
