Haydar Yalcin

Biography

Haydar YALÇIN was born in Ankara in 1965. He graduated Aeronautical Engineering
Department in 1988. He started working as an Aeronautical Engineer at the Turkish DGCA in
1989. He is the Former Deputy Director General from Dec 2004 to Sept 21 of his retirement.

He held many positions in DGCA for about 35 years. He is the Former NCMC to ICAO.
He is the former member of the Safety Management Panel (SMP) as the National Coordinator
of Türkiye, Vice Chairman of the European North Atlantic Regional Safety Group (RASG),
Global Aviation Safety Panel (GASP), and Global Aviation Safety Surveillance System
(GASOS) Working Group.

After serving as Vice-President for 3 years in the EUROCONTROL Provisional Council, he
was elected as the President of the Council for 4 years (2 terms) unanimously.

In addition, he is also a former Member of the Board of Governors of the Flight Safety
Foundation (FSF), and a Member of the Advisory Board of the World Unmanned Aerial
Vehicles Federation.

He has worked for EUROCONTROL as Senior Advisor to the DG and Expert at
EUROCONTRO from October 2021 to June 2024.

He currently works as a freelance consultant.
